Marlow Ropes
Race Partner / Brand Ambassador Role
Many thanks to Marlow Ropes who have given me the opportunity to represent them as their Brand Ambassador in the Clipper Round the World Race 2025-26.
In addition to providing a factory tour and some guidance on splicing some of our lines, Marlow have also provided equipment to capture content along the way and a Musto HPX Drysuit to keep me warm and safe on some of the rougher legs!
Thanks for all the support!

Individual Sponsorhip / Race Crew Supporter
At the moment, I’m fully self funding the Clipper Race, with a budget of c. £80-85k … of which the race fees alone are c. £55k …
Needless to say … that’s a fair amount of my liquid savings! If I receive more than £40k in Individual Sponsorship Contributions (roughly half my cost) the excess will be allocated to charity.
There are specific ways that would help me with my journey …
Mileage or Individual Legs

- Sponsor a mile, or a hundred?: I’ll cover about 40,000 NM over 11 months at sea … if I could get £1 sponsorship per mile and I’ve hit my personal target and cap on sponsorship with the excess going to charity!
Individual Leg Sponsorship
Probably more suited to corporate sponsors, you could sponsor an individual leg … across 8 legs my fees are c. £52k or roughly £6.5k per leg.
Perhaps your company has a specific affiliation to a location on the leg, like Cape Town, South Africa or Sydney, Australia … ?
For large corporate sponsorships, I might also be able to arrange boat tours in Gosport in the UK during the summer and can offer speaking engagements etc (if you actually want to hear me waffle on about ocean racing …)
The legs for single sponsorship are:
- Leg 1: The Atlantic Trade Winds (UK to South America)
- [NO SPONSOR YET]
- Leg 2: The South Atlantic Challenge (South America to South Africa)
